Madurai Gandhi N.M.R. Subbaraman College for Women, affiliated with Madurai Kamaraj University, was inaugurated by the then Vice-Chancellor, Thiru Karpaga Kumaravel, on 19th August 2010. The Sourashtra Girls Vidya Sangam established this college in memory of Madurai Gandhi N.M.R. Subbaraman, former Member of Parliament, who dedicated his life to the welfare of poor and underprivileged girl students. The institution was founded with the noble intention of imparting education at all levels in Arts, Science, and Commerce, driven by a spirit of benevolence.
